Yay, a fresh Helldivers 2 patch is coming soon to fix freezes, here are some guns to avoid using until it does

You need a hero, and Arrowhead's on its way.

There've been a lot of issues afflicting Helldivers 2 since its latest patch dropped yesterday, but the good news is that Arrowhead's now revealed that it's working on a fresh patch that should take care of the biggest one - the game freezing up on regular basis.

When should this new patch arrive? Soon is the answer by the looks of it, and there are some guns the developer suggests that you stay away from until that point. Given how quickly it managed to sort the recent issues with the game's Galactic War not registering progress properly, I'd listen.

The reveal of this came via the official Helldivers 2 Discord server, where community manager Baskinator writes: "We have identified the cause of the freezes many players have been experiencing, and we're in the process of building a patch to fix it that should be ready to deploy early next week."

"In the meantime," they added, "we advise against using the Arc Thrower, Arc Shotgun, and Tesla Tower as those appear to be linked to the issue. Thank you for your continued patience!"So, stay away from your fancy lightning shooters for the time being, sounds doable.

If you're a bit out of the loop with Helldivers at the moment, there've basically been a lot more crashes and freezes suddenly popping up for players following the release of patch 1.000.103, which contained a bunch of tweaks to planetary hazards and fixed one menthod of accidentally destroying your own mech just by firing a missile from it. Since the hiccups can happen while you're midway through or nearly at the end of an operation, therefore losing all of your progress, they've been a pretty big headache.

Hopefully with the release of this next patch, everything will get sorted and we'll all be able to go back to killing Terminids in a variety of ways, while not paying attention to any of the potential signs that another threat could be on the rise once we're done with these bugs.

In the meantime, you can listen to our podcast about the best game that's an unofficial adaption of a movie or TV show, which I'm not on, but is therefore probably funnier than it would have been if I had in fact made an appearance.
